Hawaiian Petroglyph sites can be found on all the Hawaiian islands. Contributing to the rich and mysterious Hawaiian culture, petroglyphs are often found in unmarked locations. Finding these stone markings adds excitement and reward to hiking here.

Many of drawing's meanings are obvious, but others require scholarship or the viewer's imagination. These bookmarks utilize the forms of authentic drawings, with English titles and Hawaiian translations.

The meanings assigned to the individual petroglyphs are interpretive. Tapa cloth designs form the backgrounds. Braided raffia decorates each bookmark.
